Weekend in Nelson

The last week went by so fast! One second I was in Dunedin and the next I was in Nelson!
Well, there was some memory of a week from hell (big big sale at low low prices) :P, but all a memory now.
Nelson was nice. We drove up on friday night, and Matthew joined us. It was a looong drive, especially as it was raining hard for much of the drive. But I did enjoy it :)
On Saturday we spent some time at Nelson airport looking at Air New Zealand's new plane, the Dash 8 (q 300 Bombadier or something like that, lol. Ask Ali)
It was cold, but we had fun. Saw Tim there as well, and we were a bit silly. It actually reminded me of the time of thing my dad used to drag us to, so it was nice.
Then we went and met Sue (Ali's mum) at the airport, home from a 5 week holiday in the UK and Europe. On a side note, I fell down a couple stairs and broke one of my fave pairs of shoes, but such is life, I'm not heartbroken.
Anyway, she was really surprised to see us, and I think she was happy to see her eldest. She was non stop chatty for that afternoon, and she had lots of fun stories to tell about her travels. She also brought presents for her kids, and I was shocked to find she had gotten me a few things. Very sweet of her, I'll have to bring her back something from the US :)
That night Sue and Gordon took us out for dinner at the local place, I had been there once before when I had first met them. Remembering back, it's amazing how much more comfortable I am with them now.
Also, yummmy enchiladas. I still prefer authentic enchiladas, but those Kiwi-ized ones are pretty tasty.
Sunday we pretty much got up and left. Had a nice breakfast with them, and I have a new cereal I like, but away as soon as we could. Picked up Matthew from his parent's house, and then we had a fair ride back. Unfortunately I had a bit of carsickness going, so I was worrying Ali (and myself!) Thinking I would be sick in the car. I managed though, and I really enjoyed the last half of the drive, there were some gorgeous sceneries, which I hope I remember to post some pictures of up here!
Home again, to some KFC for dinner (yes, still addicted to their fries and potatoes and gravy) and an early night.
Tues already, and I'm looking forward to my birthday and payday on thurs, and then YAY a weekend at home. Once sunday hits it's 2 weeks until our USA holiday, :D
Oops, back to work now
