A weekend away; the rest of the tale

After posting the previous entry, I was able to ditch the flight sim geeks (love you sweetie) ;) and run away with my darling Traci. It was awesome to see her, and she looked great!
We went to her boy's flat straightaway, said hi and dumped some things. We decided to have dinner at a steakhouse, so we ran away to Traci's to get ready for that and the concert following.
Dinner was pretty yum. We shared a pitcher of strawberry slushee, and Traci treated me as a birthday gift (lol, I get a lot of free meals for my birthday) :P
It was just a fun meal. Traci's boy (Harry), is very little boyish and funny, so we ended up being silly and making jokes and just laughing lots.
Pictures of all this to come. :P I'm at work at the moment, so am pictureless.
After dinner, TC and I headed off to a barbershop quartet qualification concert. At first it was really cool. I love the way the voices blend, plus I love guy voices. Also, we had an ample supply of chocolate to keep us company :D Unfortunately the thing went on FAAR too long, and by the end of it I was near walking out. Just too much barbershop for me!
Once we were free of that, we headed back to Harry's to get ready for the party. It was pretty much a costume party, themed Decandence and Deviants, so I wore black pleather and threw on a white feather boa. It was loverly. The party was a bit strange for my taste, but since I was tag a long girl, I just hid in the dance room and danced, which was fun. I was worn out when we decided to take off. Probably around quarter to midnight, so an early night really. I must be getting old, lol.
Back to the house and straight to bed. And straight to sleep actually, which was unusual for me.
And, I must admit, I was starting to miss Alister :P
The next morning, I woke bright and early, which was also unfortunate, as I wanted to sleep in! I was still tired, but my body thought it was time to go to work, so up I was. Traci had gone off to some meeting, so I was stuck wandering the house, playing tetris, taking pictures, and stealing an apple for breakfast (bad steph). Towards noonish I sent a text to Ali saying where I was, and if he knew where it was.
Only after that did Harry show up, in time to keep me company while I waited for Alister.
Ali arrived (and yes, it was very good to see him...I'm so addicted, lol) and shortly after Traci came too. We took our leave of Harry and went off to have some breakfast (yes, it was afternoon now). We all had pancakes and fruit and it was delish. But the end of that meant that we had to continue our journey home, so we got back to the car, hugged and thanked traci, and off we went.
The drive went ok, at least I didn't have a massive headache this time. I got by with only a little one. We talked lots, which was good, but I am kinda worried about a couple things now.
One being, my dad turns 50 in January, and I soo should be there. But I don't think that it is possible at all. Not only will it be a busy time at work, my my work will be moving in Jan. Also, I'll be applying for a new visa at that point. And I have tickets to Melbourne already, in the beginning of Feb, for a week.
And yet, it's my dad's 50th and I should be there.
Also, the week in Melbourne. We're going to Ali's friend Adele's wedding. Which yay, I was excited for. Now I'm sorta dreading it. Why? She's asked him to be a groomsman. Which, yay that's quite the honour, but it means that Stephanie will have to be alone a whole lot with a whole lot of people she doesn't know. To be honest, my first reaction was, I'd rather not go.
But I made the decision to deal, keep smiling, and just do it. Hopefully it will only be a few hours of torment, and in return I'll get a week in Melbourne.
Anyway, this is a long entrym and I'm 20 minutes late going back to work.
Hope all who reads this is well
Steph

Hi sweetie, yes, I was missing you too! Glad you had a wonderful time. I know Chris really appreciated my visit, and I really appreciate you facilitating my visit. Especially at such short notice.
I'm sorry about the wedding situation.. If you could have only heard me spluttering and stuttering an answer to one of my best friends (though true I never see her anymore) asking me to be a groomsman, you would have known I was only thinking of the situation this will leave you in. But I can't turn her down.. you know and understand that I'm sure, but I'll say it again anyway. It will hopefully only be an hour or two of torment, and the rest of the week I am yours..
Thanks for being so understanding... *kiss
